Video Tele-therapy

What is Tele-therapy?

(Also referred to as Tele-health, Tele-medicine or Tele-psychiatry)

Tele-therapy is a form of video conferencing allowing psychologists and therapists to provide psychotherapy  services to patients outside of the office, for example at the client's home or workplace. It also provides the opportunity for consultation with family members, teachers and other providers involved in the patient’s care. Surveyed patients participating in tele-therapy say they are very satisfied with the care they are receiving and that they feel tele-therapy is a reliable form of practice. In addition, many find it more convenient to their lifestyles and schedules and say that they are able to keep their appointments on a more regular basis.

What does Tele-therapy Require?

For your appointment, you will need to have access to a private place and a computer/tablet/smart phone with a camera and high speed internet.  A team member at Daybreak Counseling Center will provide you with access to a secure HIPAA compliant video conferencing software free of charge. All you have to do is be on your device and logged on at the time of your appointment.

Is Tele-therapy Secure? Daybreak Counseling Center ensures the interaction between the patient and therapist is completely secure and HIPAA compliant. The tele-health conferencing software encrypts all forms of data, including video and audio.

Benefits

Tele-therapy provides our clients with benefits that may lead to better care. We understand it can be difficult to take time off from your busy schedule to come to our office. This form of treatment can eliminate your commute time that can be an additional stressor, especially when you are scheduled to see your psychiatrist/therapist often.  For clients who are usually seen in the office but are sick or traveling, this form of treatment allows you to still keep your appointment without interrupting your care.

How does it work?

When you call us or fill out a contact form, our practice manager will give you a call back to gather some initial information and go over payment methods with you prior to your appointment. They will also review  and email you our informed consent and tele-health consent forms for you to to sign. Once that is complete, one our therapists will contact to you gather some to discuss what brings you to therapy or what goals you would like to work on, and they will confirm an appointment time with you. On the day of your appointment your therapist  will send you a link to a secure H.I.P.P.A. compliant video interactive service and you and your therapist will have our appointment as scheduled, it's that easy!
