I am a licensed marriage and family therapist. I did my undergraduate work in psychology at the University of California, Los Angeles and completed my master's degree in clinical psychology with an emphasis in marriage and family therapy at Pepperdine University. I have over 13 years of experience in the mental health field working with a variety of issues such as eating disorders, drug and alcohol addiction, codependency, chronic relapse, dual diagnosis, families, adolescents, depression, anxiety, bipolar, psychosis, PTSD and trauma. Having a broad range of experience over the years opened my eyes to the need for adequate trauma treatment so I became trained as an EMDR practitioner. I completed EMDR training with Linda Vanderlaan. Dr. Vanderlaan is a highly respected EMDR therapist and a close colleague of Dr. Francine Shapiro, EMDR’s founder. In studying mind- body approaches to trauma, such as EMDR, I learned about the effectiveness of eastern practices such as yoga and meditation in treating a range of psychological challenges. This prompted me to cultivate my own personal yoga and mediation practice. Personally experiencing the benefits of a mindfulness practice led me to pursue formal training as a yoga teacher, so I could bring those benefits to my clients as well. In 2017, I received 200 hours of formal training as a yoga instructor in Montezuma, Costa Rica. Currently, I specialize in treating a wide range of psychological challenges using mindfulness based and trauma informed approaches. Additionally, I completed two years of doctorate level study in Forensic Psychology including a specialty course on Organized Crime in Rome, Italy. In addition to my mindfulness and Trauma training, I have received specialized training in Experiential, Narrative, Solution Focused, Cognitive Behavior, Humanistic and Family Systems Therapy modalities. I was selected to present at the Annual Meeting of Institute for Violence, Abuse & Trauma (IVAT) and Sex Crimes and Paraphilia Institute (SCPI) in 2010. I have, also, guest lectured at Orange Coast Community College, participated in several research projects and have been published in MOJ Addiction Medicine & Therapy on Med Crave online. In my work with clients I focus on providing a safe, open, and non-judgemental environment in order for them to share their story, discuss their needs and concerns, and work on overcoming whatever issues they may face or goals they want to accomplish. As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, I am delighted to offer a friendly and genuine
holistic approach that delivers real results and lasting transformation. I began this journey seeking an answer to a simple yet profound question, “What is the secret to Happiness”?
After graduating with a master’s degree in counseling psychology from National University in
Costa Mesa, CA I began my own self-discovery & transformation while studying spirituality and alternative modalities such as Reiki energy healing, meditation, and yoga to find deeper meaning to our existence. I dedicated 3 years of deep training with Dr. Kathy Kangarloo, PhD Esoteric Studies, to learn and practice spirituality as the inner energy existing in humanity. I have studied and learned a variety of belief systems, spiritual practices, values, ethics, and other discourses we use to give life meaning. In 2017, I was certified as a Yukt yoga teacher and a Reiki master and combined positive psychology, love based emotional focus therapy, yoga therapy, mindfulness, breath work, and energy healing to enhance the therapeutic experience for my clients. In a collaborative effort I with my clients toward achieving healing, happiness, contentment, wellbeing, and personal development. Together we identity and replace thoughts and believes that no longer are serving you with a positive, loving, and compassionate mindset.
I find great joy working with teens, parents, couples, and individuals challenged with relational
issues and family conflicts, life transitions, self-esteem, spirituality, and self-development.
Happiness is your birth right rooted in healthy relationships. We all secretly seek a secure
relationship that allows “me to be me”, where we are accepted, respected, and loved me for who we are. My goal as a therapist is to provide a safe space for you to express yourself, be validated, feel understood and respected. In my work with teens I incorporate a fun approach called “A-Z of a Happy Life” to assist them to create self-love by re-discovering their selves by exploring their unique traits, and making
smooth transition to the new world. For Couples and individuals with relational challenges, I utilize the evidence based Gottman couple's therapy modality to increase intimacy, respect, and affection in a safe space that promotes healthy boundaries and love-based connections.
Regardless of challenges you are facing, together we will help you create harmony and balance
in all aspects of your life, access your full potentials, activate your spiritual power, heal your
relationships and achieve heartfelt transformations.
Allow this Journey Begin...Changing the world begins with accepting and loving yourself wholly!
