Available For In-Person & Virtual Sessions

Hi there! My name is Crystal Muñoz and I am an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist. I received my Master of Science in Counseling Psychology degree from Mount Saint Mary’s University. My degree has a specialization in Marriage and Family Therapy with an emphasis in bilingual studies which means that I can provide therapeutic services in both English and Spanish. For my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology degree, I graduated from the California State
University of Long Beach. Ever since I was in middle school I knew I wanted to be a therapist. All of my friends who were seeking support or solutions would come to me with their problems. I found this to be my calling as I genuinely enjoyed actively listening, providing empathy, and offering different perspectives for my loved ones. My purpose in life was confirmed when I took my first psychology course in high school – I couldn’t get enough of the topic and was eager to learn more about people and how their minds work.

I have over 5 years of experience working in the mental health field. My professional experience includes conducting counseling sessions with children, teens, adults, couples, families, and group therapy sessions. With a broad client caseload, I learned about the significance of remaining flexible during sessions and being receptive to my client's needs. I also worked as a Mental Health Worker which entailed providing case management to adults who were suffering from severe mental health diagnoses such as Major Depressive Disorder, PTSD, and Severe Anxiety.

In therapy sessions, I enjoy using an integrative approach that pulls techniques from various orientations such as Gestalt, Client-Centered, Psychodynamic, CBT, Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness, and so many more. I understand that it is important to be flexible and open-minded when it comes to interacting with clients because each client has different needs and goals.

As a therapist, it is my intention to make the therapeutic process as comfortable as possible. I
understand that coming to therapy can be difficult, but it’s also a huge step in someone’s healing journey, and that deserves to be celebrated! I want to provide a safe space and build trusting relationships with my clients so that they feel confident in doing the work to accomplish their goals. To inquire about setting up an appointment with me, please call our office at (562) 566-4257.
